Season 1 of the podcast was a success by all accounts but Terri-Karelle and her team went to work on how they could make this even more successful. Being an advocate for inclusion, she decided to shoot a video podcast that would allow her to include the deaf community. So for those who wanted audio only, that option was there but when you went over to YouTube, she shot videos for every episode and brought on Intermediary Interpreter, Antoinette “Toni” Aiken to sign for every episode.
Season 2 episode 12 was very special because this is a different format, different kind of guest, in fact, we spoke with Cristophe Phillips who is the very first deaf graduate from the Edna Manley College for the Visual and Performing Arts.
It’s a big deal considering society is still a little bit closed off and still does not realize the power the deaf community has. Toni Aiken was also on set as sign language interpreter to sign and to give Cristophe the opportunity to respond.
